A session protocol was filled out by the interviewer every time a
participant was interviewed, whether by telephone or face-to-face.
There were two exceptions to this rule: 1. At Time 1, an Observation
Protocol rather than a Session Protocol was filled out after the
first contact. 2. No Session Protocol was completed if the
psychiatrist declared the participant unable to
give consent.
Contacts with participants which did not involve the answering of
any interview questions were documented in the Contact
Protocol only. Throughout the various times of measurement, the
Session Protocol was adapted and expanded in accordance with the
various modifications made in the course the longitudinal study. The
Session Protocols contain data on the time and
place of the interview the presence of
others, any changes in the life
situation of the participant, current participant
status and the participant's granting of consent.
